Gear & Setup

Videography Gear Used for Client Projects

I don’t often get asked about the specific equipment used on my videography projects. Most discussions tend to focus on the outcome, the working process, and whether the video fits the brief, rather than on cameras or technical details.

This page exists mainly for clarity. Among fellow videographers, filmmakers, and others working in the field, equipment sometimes comes up, and it can be useful to understand the tools typically used on professional videography projects.

The gear listed here represents the videography equipment that I personally own and regularly work with. On most projects in Bangkok and across Thailand, a selection of this equipment is used based on the needs of each production. Some of this gear is also used on selected international projects. This setup supports a wide range of work, including corporate videos, event coverage, documentaries, and branded content. In practice, this equipment is used on more than 90% of my videography work and is chosen for reliability, flexibility, and efficiency rather than specifications alone.

Every videography project is different. Some productions require a specific camera system, lens choice, audio setup, or lighting approach to match the brief. When needed, additional or more suitable videography equipment can be rented. Any supplementary gear is selected based on the actual requirements of the project and the intended delivery.

The focus remains on the work itself. Gear is treated as a practical part of the videography process that supports the workflow and final video delivery, not something clients are expected to evaluate.

International Shoots & Flexible Production Setups

I work on projects across Asia, where each location brings its own creative and logistical considerations. Every shoot starts with understanding the story, the environment, and the production goals.

From there, we decide on the most suitable setup. Some projects call for a compact, travel-efficient kit, while others benefit from a full cinema configuration, supported by local rentals when needed.

The focus is always on choosing the right tools to serve the story effectively, whether it’s a documentary in Myanmar, a corporate shoot in Malaysia, or a creative campaign in Laos.

This approach allows for consistency, efficiency, and cinematic quality, regardless of scale or location.
